I first had the idea of creating handmade cushions in 2017. I had entered one of my paintings into our local village show and won first prize, with feedback from the judge saying how he thought my paintings would have a commercial appeal. That was how the idea started, to put my paintings on to cushions.
My idea started to grow as I continued to paint, at the same time I did a lot of research and finally decided in 2018 that I could do this.
I paint my designs from photographs I take, in and around the beautiful Devon countryside where I live, and also from my colourful garden.
Apart from flowers I like to paint sea life,
wildlife, and from my imagination,
also ideas given to me by friends.
I use acrylic paints to get the painted look I want.
My paintings are vibrant, showing the beautiful colours I love .
I make my cushions in natural luxury cotton with my hand painted design printed on the front panel of the cover with either a plain natural luxury cotton for the back panel or luxurious polyester velvet using a complimenting colour. The cushion pad is feather filled, with a cotton cover, but a polyfilling can be available if requested. All cushion covers have a concealed zip fastening and are washable with care.
